You absolutely get to feel the victory of his resurrection and the incredible loss that hell feels. You are meant to understand the impact Jesus has on Satan, and the huge threat that he is to him.

The demonic elements are disturbing and some jump-scare scenes will frighten viewers. There are catholic themes and some intensely creepy scenes that want you to feel the fear of how present the denomic elements actually are that follow Jesus to the cross, anticipating his demise and teasing and mocking even into death. There are also spiritual elements that allow you to grasp that the devil was absolutely present during that time and he had a deeply vested interest in Jesus' death. The violence is necessary to tell this story. In the end, a warning for children, it's extremely violent, but it's realistic for a Roman flogging and crucifixion. The rest of the movie is beautifully done. It's also hard to explain why the adults who love Jesus, desert him when he's needing them the most. Many elements can be hard on young viewers namely the entire film is in Aramaic, that alone will be very hard to follow with captions if they cannot read very well. It's very hard to watch her follow her son as he's led to his death and is hanging on the cross speaking to her, which actually happened. There is a scene where his mother Mary is cleaning up after her son, heartbreaking isn't the word. Young children should not see those scenes, this is more for a mature audience. You don't get a real good idea about the men and women who served along side him, but you definitely understand more about what led to his arrest and the fear and threat the Jewish leaders felt by his death and what it meant.Ī very realistic depiction of the flogging and crucifixion scene.
